BestGames.com.au and BestChess.com.au specialize in games. And lots of them! Board & card games. Family games. Kids & educational games. Party and strategy games. Chess sets. Backgammon. Mahjong and more!

The game sites are owned by Corneliu Tusnea. Corneliu says, “We started as a two person online shop. Then we opened a brick and mortar store where we have three employees. And now we’ve opened a second online shop with a focus on chess sets. And we aren’t even one year old yet!”

Corneliu says that he sells games because he loves them. “I love the games and the passion and the fun and the exceptional time you have when you play quality games around the table with friends and family,” he says.

Customers are very important to BestGames.com.au and BestChess.com.au. “We have exceptional service,” says Corneliu. “Next day deliveries with quick couriers, almost instant responses to inquiries. We have online order and shipping tracking, and an easy to navigate website.” He says, “We know all the games we sell, and their pros and cons. We have tables and people play with our games to understand them and get to know them.”

The businesses started from an idea Corneliu had one night in August 2006. The next day they created the company and bought a domain name. Three weeks later they bought BV, and three weeks after that they had the shop open online and started to register it with the search engines. On the first of November they had their very first online order.

Running business operations is very easy for Corneliu and his team. He says, “We print invoices and packing slips and it all works very fast and easy. It takes about 20 minutes a day to prepare the orders for the whole day and more than an hour to package and ship them. The software is so smooth,” says Corneliu. “It always does the job.”

“We never did anything like this before, Corneliu says, “We started something we had no idea how to manage, how to deal with and how to approach. When we started we added more than 200 products to the site and we had no idea where we would get them from. We had the site ready to go live before we even discussed things with suppliers.”

“The software is so smooth. It always does the job.”

In choosing an e-commerce solution Corneliu considered, “.Net 2.0 and a well-architected engine, which I think BV achieved.” He says, “There are still small issues, but I would clearly make the same decision and go with BV again.”

He says, “I'm a Senior Consultant working with C# in my daily life, so I'm quite well plugged into the heartbeat of the tech community. I searched for shopping carts and never found BV. I was about to go with another cart when someone at a .Net conference recommended BV. I tried it the same night and loved it.”

“I like the product properties, workflows, order management and templating system,” Corneliu says. “The columns and blocks are also nice. Customers are happy with our service, and we are happy with the technological support we have.”

“We build the business around BV. We have automatic random signatures in e-mails via BV from the sites. We have barcode readers for parcel tracking plugging into the site. Even more than that, I wrote a full WPF Point of Sale system that we run in the shop on top of the BV engine!”

“We are a name in the market now,” says Corneliu. “One year, two people, two online shops, one retail shop, one baby on the way (due in two weeks). I guess we did more than we could believe possible, and we are extremely happy and proud of what we did!”
