The Bag Store is an internet based business that sells luggage, briefcases, wallets
and all types of travel necessities. The company has four employees, two developers
and two customer service representatives. BagStore.com is affiliated with a brick
and mortar business, but due to the highly competitive nature of online sales, BagStore.com
acts as a separate business in order to have a pricing advantage. The Bag Store
was created as a way to offer items at a more competitive price due to less overhead
than a traditional brick and mortar store.
Jason Pace of BagStore.com says, "Information is our key to success. The travel
industry changes daily, and we think giving people information is very important,
along with customer service and price." BagStore.com has created several tools for
that express purpose. One tool allows customers to check that their appliances,
like hairdryers or computers, will work with foreign electrical outlets. Customers
can then purchase the adaptors, plugs and surge protectors they need to use their
items overseas. Jason says, "Our customers have let us know that they love our customer
service, price and that our tools have given them the ability to find products that
fit their needs at the prices they're looking for,"
When searching for an e-commerce solution BagStore.com was looking for, "Ease of
customization and the tools to easily optimize the website ourselves, along with
tech support you can actually talk to," says Jason. On the recommendation of another
business he trusted, he looked at BV. He says, "So many other software companies
like to sell you on their packages and then leave you high and dry when you need
to make changes to their templates." BV was the exact opposite, he says. They seemed
to learn from our goals as much as we have learned from them. Then they implemented
our needs into future releases. Optimization was a snap too."
BagStore.com has a custom theme and additional behind the scenes customizations.
Jason says, "The BV support staff was always there to help us when we had questions,
and no matter what we have always found a way around problems we've run into." Getting
up and running on BV was easy, says Jason. "It's as simple as implementing your
design, uploading your products, changing your settings and customizing your store.
Then you're ready to sell." He says, "We are selling better now than any other website
we've had in the past. With a team of four, high-end web-hosting, and other expenses,
we have a significant amount of overhead. If the company pulls in a profit after
all of that, we call that success!"
“BV seemed to learn from our goals as much as we have learned from them. Then they
implemented our needs into future releases. Optimization was a snap too.”
Jason says that BagStore.com is on track to becoming one of the top travel retail
sites online. "We have a long way to go, "he says, "but we will arrive soon." Because
of BV, the team can spend more time on products and customers than dealing with
software problems then they have been able to using other e-commerce products in
the past. In addition, the custom tools that BagStore.com has created "have given
our business the edge we've been looking for," says Jason.
Jason says, "Luggage is not just about getting your belongings from point A to point
B. For some, it's about fashion or making a statement. For others it's about ease
of use and the quality of the product and how it stands up to airline carriers.
No matter what the customer wants or needs, there is a piece of luggage that fits
him or her perfectly. Our site, along with our customer service staff, makes this
possible."
