ASP.NET 2.0
BV Commerce 5 uses the latest web technology from Microsoft with advanced features
like Master Pages which make it easy to update the look of your entire store from
a single file. ASP.NET 2.0 also brings back dyamic compilation which allows you
to edit the Visual Basic portion of your site without needing Visual Studio or any
other tool to recompile.
URL Rewriting for Search Engine Optimization
BV Commerce 5 includes a URL rewriting engine to help optimize stores for search
engines. A product page link like this:
http://www.mystore.com/ProductInfo.aspx?id=123456
Becomes this link automatically:
http://www.mystore.com/Products/SuperCoolProduct.aspx
With BV Commerce 5 the URL rewriting is automatic so merchants get all the benefits
without any extra work.
Anonymous Checkout
BV Commerce 5 offers merchants the option to let customers place orders without
registering for an account first. Some merchants find that "anonymous" checkouts
lead to higher conversion rates. Those merchants who benefit from registration will
still be able to require logins at the flip of a switch.
Improved Sale Options
BV Commerce 5 offers two new sale options. Sale by category and sale by product
type. These two powerful options will help streamline the process of offering specials
to customers. The storewide and product based sales found in BVC2004 will still
be available and just as powerful. Sales can be amount (dollars) or percentage based
and new for BV Commerce 5 you can set a specific price for items on sale. Putting
all items in "category x" on sale for "$19.99" has never been easier!

If you take orders by telephone, email or in person, the new Create Order feature
in BV Commerce 5 will by a huge time saver.
